The University of Madeira, through the Department of Physical Education and Sport, in conjunction with Funchal City Council, the Madeira Football Association, the Regional Sports Directorate and the Madeira Athletics Association, is organising the Sports and Science Seminar 2025. This is one of the main regional scientific events in the field of Sports Science, which has attracted numerous national and international researchers and is a highly relevant activity in the training of sports agents.
This year, we propose to organise a scientific event with a special focus on reflection on ‘Advances in Health-Optimized Athletic Training’. Successful sports training, regardless of the sport, age group, sporting level or objective, is achieved through the development of systematic training plans that utilise accumulated knowledge in the areas of physiology, biomechanics, health, pedagogy, sociology, statistics, technology, among others. It is in this spirit that the Sports and Science 2025 Seminar aims to promote the debate of ideas, share innovative experiences and strengthen the scientific and professional sports community.
The Sports and Science Seminar 2025 aims to promote scientific networking through conferences, symposia, free papers and poster presentations. In addition, it aims to foster technical and professional development through workshops aimed at sports and science professionals.
