
Luís Sardinha
Curriculum
Luís B. Sardinha is a Full Professor in Exercise Prescription, Functional Body Composition, and Energy Regulation at the Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon. He holds a degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences, a Master’s in Exercise Physiology from the University of Kansas, USA, and a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon, Portugal. In 1997, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Body Composition Laboratory, Department of Physiology, College of Medicine, University of Arizona, USA.
He has published over 400 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has been a researcher and principal investigator (PI) in several national and international multicenter research projects. He is currently the coordinator of an international consortium of universities and private entities titled “Towards Intelligent Health and Well-Being: Network of Physical Activity Assessment (INTERLIVE)”.
His H-index is 78 (Web of Science – all databases) and 99 (Google Scholar), with 4,132 citations in 2024 (Web of Science – total citations: 36,564) and 7,202 citations in 2024 (Google Scholar – total citations: 65,955). He has 11 highly cited papers and 1 highlighted article in the Exercise and Health field.
His research focuses on developing methods and models of human body composition and studying the gradual and dose-response relationships between sedentary behavior, physical activity, and physical fitness with physiological attributes across the lifespan. Additionally, he explores mechanisms related to randomized clinical trials, particularly in the fields of Obesity, Cardiovascular Diseases, Type 2 Diabetes, and, more recently, Exercise Oncology.
He is also involved in translational research, including digital web-based programs, aiming to influence body composition, physical fitness, and health in children and adults through digital phenotyping.

Pedro Sarmento
Curriculum
Pedro Sarmento is a prominent figure in sports and academia. As a Retired Associate Professor with Habilitation from the Faculty of Sport, University of Porto, he has built an exemplary career, progressing through all levels of the sports system as an athlete, coach, and sports director.
With an extensive academic output, he has authored dozens of books, book chapters, and scientific articles, in addition to sharing his knowledge in hundreds of academic and professional settings.

Hugo Sarmento
Curriculum
Hugo Miguel Borges Sarmento obtained his Ph.D. in Sports Sciences in 2012 from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, a Master’s in Sports Training and High Performance in 2007 from the University of Porto, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Sciences and Physical Education in 2004 from the University of Coimbra. He is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Coimbra.
He has published over 150 articles in specialized journals, authored 20 book chapters and 12 books, and has supervised 30 master’s dissertations and co-supervised 8 doctoral theses (2 completed). His research focuses on Medical and Health Sciences, with an emphasis on Health Sciences and Sports Sciences. In his Ciência Vitae curriculum, the most frequently used terms in the context of his scientific, technological, and artistic-cultural production are: Game Analysis, Soccer, Observational Methodology, T-Patterns, Social Sciences, Talent Identification, Talent Selection, Talent Development, Performance Analysis, Recreational Soccer, and Health.

João Brito
Curriculum
João Brito is a physiologist at the Portuguese Football Federation, working within the Health and Performance Unit as a specialist in exercise physiology and strength and conditioning training. Previously, he served as an exercise physiologist at Aspetar – Qatar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar.
He holds a Ph.D. in Sports Sciences from the University of Porto. His research interests focus on injury prevention, strength and conditioning training, as well as the monitoring and tracking of training and match loads.

Adilson Marques
Curriculum
Adilson Marques is a professor at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. He holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Physical Education, a Master’s in Public Health, and Ph.D. degrees in Education Sciences, Sport Sciences, and Health Sciences.
Adilson Marques worked as a Physical Education teacher for nine years. His main research interest is health promotion, and recently, he has been studying the relationship between physical activity, physical fitness, and mental health. He has published numerous peer-reviewed international articles and has been a researcher in several research projects.
For six years, he served as a board member of the Portuguese Society of Physical Education. Currently, he is a member of the National Program for the Promotion of Physical Activity at the Portuguese Ministry of Health.

André Seabra
Curriculum
He is the Director of the Portugal Football School and an Assistant Professor with Habilitation at the Faculty of Sport, University of Porto. His qualifications include a Ph.D. in Sports Sciences and two Master’s degrees—one in Public Health and the other in High-Performance Training.
He is the author and co-author of over 150 scientific articles, published in national and international journals, and has been a guest speaker at more than 160 conferences in Portugal and other countries.

Krzysztof Przednowek
Curriculum
Krzysztof Przednowek obtained his PhD in Physical Culture Sciences from the Jerzy Kukuczka Academy of Physical Education in Katowice in 2014. In 2020, at the same institution, he earned the title of Associate Professor based on a series of scientific papers on computer modeling in sports training.
He currently works as a professor at the Faculty of Physical Culture Sciences at the University of Rzeszów. His main scientific interests focus on optimizing the training process and sports diagnostics. He is the co-author of over 100 scientific publications. He has been the leader or main executor of ten scientific projects. Since 2021, he has been the Director of the University Athletics Center, a Innovative Research Center in Sports, coordinating numerous research studies and scientific projects.

Janusz Iskra
Curriculum
Janusz Iskra, Prof. Dr. Hab., is a master-class coach specializing in hurdle races (with a focus on the 400m hurdles) and sprint races. In his scientific work, he focuses on the determinants of sports mastery in athletic speed events. His habilitation dissertation was titled “Morphological and Functional Determinants of Results in Hurdle Races” (2001), and his professorial thesis was based on the topic “Optimization of Sports Training in the 400m Hurdles.” He is the author of numerous articles and book publications on sports training in hurdle races.
These works have been published in “Track Coach,” “Track Technique,” as well as in American hurdle race textbooks (“The Hurdles: Contemporary Theory, Technique, and Training”). From 1989 to 2002, he was the coach of the national team. Among the best athletes coached by Iskra are Olympians: Paweł Januszewski (European champion in the 400m hurdles), Krzysztof Mehlich, Zuzanna Radecka, Daniel Woźniak (a visually impaired sprinter), and Michał Pietrzak.
